Serta contour changing pad review

posted by Kathy in Nursery Furniture & Decor

The Good

I wanted to minimize short-term furniture purchases so we decided to use our existing office IKEA bookshelves in Elise’s room. The lower bookshelf had a flat top that would make for a perfect changing table. Just had to find the right pad! Enter the Serta countoured changing pad. It converts any flat surface into a changing table, and has contoured sides (as well as secure straps) to help baby in place. And you can cover it with most standard changing pad covers to make it a bit more decorative.

The Bad

You do have to be sure to screw the back straps into your furniture to ensure the Serta countoured changing pad is safely attached to the surface. The screws are pretty shallow though and we were able to hide them on the back so you won’t be able to see the holes once the pad is removed. But let’s face it. It’s IKEA furniture so I don’t really care.

The Ugly

One of the reasons we bought this pad was because the vinyl cover is free of phthalates. I know, phthalates are EVERYWHERE but if I can avoid it I will, and you should too!
